New albums in the pipeline.

Post by Arpangel »

Just spoken to my collaborator, and we’re getting together to talk about a new album of our Piano and Marimba music, also my own album to sort out, of remastered stuff from the last thirty years, mainly short pieces, I’ve got to get these done soon, they’ve been knocked back continuously in the last six months, to the point of ridiculousness, announcing things here sort of puts a bit of pressure on us to do something, so keep an eye out in the next few weeks, or sooner.

Tony, is your existing piano and marimba music available publicly?

Some time ago Tony did post a link to a radio performance of his piano and marimba improvisations - I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Not exactly piano and marimba as such but this album by one of Tony's nom de plumes has a track or two with some very nice piano work and the project has been a welcome addition to my library for some time now.

That’s enough Martin, I’m on the case, or "cases"
My partner nearly threw me down in the basement yesterday "go and do some f*****g music" she said, it didn’t work, I ended up extending the siding on the railway.
I’ve always been one of those who works best when under intense pressure, I’m good at doing things at the last minute, don’t worry.

The piano and marimba, it’s a bit of a mess, organisation wise, we need to have a couple sessions, to organise it and actually find out what we’ve got, there are recordings dotted across three recorders.
What I’m excited about is the accordion and modular sessions, they are quite interesting, they make a good contrast to the piano stuff.

Yes, pressure can be a great thing when it comes to producing music. Even pressure you put on yourself.

Yes, that happens. You get going on something, and then just putting energy in means new ideas start coming out. I always think it's churlish to ignore inspiration, don't you agree? :-)

I’m not doing too bad, I'm already 25 mins into our collaborative album, I just need approval from my friend, it’s sounding good, especially if you’re into abstract electronic, free-improve accordion.
It’s my own stuff that’s a problem, I think I’ve got enough material, again, it’s a matter of sorting it out, in between editing pictures of our garden for my partner, which happen to be on the same computer!
