This is an impressionistic piano piece called 'Impression 1' - the material is improvised and then edited, so as to create a ABAC structure and fix some dodgy notes, and speed it up!
I hope you enjoy it.

Oh wow - I'm really loving this Rich!!!
So controlled (especially for an improvisation), and yet SO rubato for that free and easy feel.
The piano timbre is also interesting, with clean loud notes ringing out for the melody, but huffy (felt-treated perhaps?) quieter ones. Sort of a smoky feel.
Bravo - I'd definitely buy this if were on an album (hint)

Re: Impression 1
That's so very lovely. There's only one thing wrong with it - 'Impression 1' doesn't do justice to the music. I'd get all poetic on you and offer suggestions, but I don't know you at all, so I'd just get it wrong. Go on. Get wild and give it a real name. It's such a lovely tune.

Thanks for the kind words!
This is actually the first of four pieces, here's a playlist of all four.

Thanks for your comments on the naming, Awjoe - I'll think about that.

I'm serious about the naming thing, but only lightly so, and I don't want to offend. I can live with 'Impression 1' if you keep doing music like this. I really like it. This last week (don't ask why) I listened to a bunch of Liberace's stuff. I liked it, but this is better. I like glitz and showmanship, but I like a good tune better.

I'm not at all offended!
Re: Impression 1
Enjoyed that and jumped immediately onto the (ever-growing?) playlist.
