So I probably know the answer, but thought I'd ask. I've got a speaker system that can connect via dante network, and a stage box that connects AES50 to the mixer FOH. So the question is, can I run dante and AES50 down a single ethercon cable?
Obviously I'd have a switcher each end to break out to the various bits of gear. Just trying to save the cost of a 2nd long ethercon!
They are completely different, so no. AES50 is a point-to-point system, Dante is a protocol. They won't play nice! It would be expensive to convert the AES50 to Dante; I suspect a second cable is by far the cheapest and simplest solution.

Nope. AES50 is a point-to-point connection format that happens to use Ethernet cable, but it's not compatible with standard network protocols or other network traffic. Dante is.
So the two can't coexist in the same cable or routed via shared switches.
