Copyright on newspaper images for album cover?

Post by Arpangel »

I’ve got two very small images from a newspaper, in a collage, for my current album project, I’m just wondering if these could cause me trouble, regarding copyright?

Unless they are very old images, they certainly could if anyone saw them and thought it worth taking action.

Reliably fallible.

Thanks Wonks, these images are about 10 years old, so I’m going to ditch this cover project, and use one of my own photos, it’s not worth the risk, to me, or my friend who owns the label.

You could or not
Print one of your own photos that you took.
Then in Blue Peter style sprinkle things on it.
Then take a photo of it for album cover.

If it were me I’d do it, thats just me, but it’s not fair on my friend, who is a very honest and ethical chap.
I've got another one of my pictures, that I’m happy with, so it’s fine.
I made lots of collages, of newspaper clippings, and even the one I’m now using had loads of images around the border of a photo I took, so I had to crop it back to the photo, all a bit of a pain, but it works.
