Coming Soon - The Songs
Coming Soon - The Songs
Ten tracks being finalised - mostly just matching volume levels. Some never posted before anywhere. All originally composed between 2007 and 2011 but with later revisions. With some of these I was able to go back to the original unprocessed vocal tracks. Most of the instrumental backing has been replaced with 'modern' recordings.
Genres range from sad ballads to comedy.

Ha!
All the tracks are now as good as they're likely to be individually, but trying to match them up as an album is proving to be 'interesting'. They cover a very wide range of styles, so setting levels by instruments just doesn't work at all, and I don't have kit whereby I can easily run them all together and just switch between them to compare and adjust volumes.
However, there is real progress and 'Soon' has become considerably sooner

Re: Coming Soon - The Songs
Aaaand there's more!
I decided to make a serious attempt at recording new vocals for some of the tracks. This has been rather a challenge. Not only do I have difficulty staying in key and on pitch, but I don't have anything that can sensibly be called a recording studio. The best I have is the small upstairs 'office' as far away from the road as possible - but only when the folks next door are out. Oh, and I also have to switch the boiler off, and allow time for the pipes to stop creaking
However, I am making progress!

Well, I've finished fiddling about with this, and think it's as good as it will get. There are two, possibly three tracks you might find familiar.
Anyway I hope you enjoy them all.

The first half grabbed me more than the second on first listen, but I'm sick again so I wasn't that awake.
Will give it another listen when i'm a bit more compos mentis.

Feels like it's every time I leave the house at the moment.
Just had to drop out of rugby training tonight because I'm just not up to it.
But it will give me chance to give your stuff another listen.

Re: Coming Soon - The Songs
How did it feel to sing after making lots of instrumentals.
Did you feel you are bearing more of yourself when singing.
I feel singing gives away more of who we are.
Probably reason I don't make songs also because my singing sounds as jamming finger in a door lol.

Re: Coming Soon - The Songs
Well, I don't like the sound of my own voice, and get annoyed about not staying on pitch, so it's rather hard work for me. The songs in this album stretch over a number of years and just under half of them have the original voice recording. I don't know if I'll ever do this again.
