Please Help me to Activate the Midi Transmit Program Change "on and off" function on my Roland RD88
Ive tried everything.
Please help me "detail by detail" to get it to work the Owners manual and Parameter manual didnt help
other than acknowledge it can be done!
Over 30 years Ive been a Roland user and other keyboards and never had an issue finding the Midi transmit PC function this is the first time ever.
thankyou

Re: Roland RD-88 Midi Question
I'm not sure why the manuals aren't helping here as both the User Guide and the Parameter Guide have relevant info!
According to page 21 of the manual:
1) Press [EXT CTRL SETTING] button
2) Use Scene category buttons [0], [1], and [2] to select the zone whose settings you want to edit
3) Use the cursor buttons to select the TxMode parameter and use the [DEC] [INC] buttons to set the value to ON
Note also the settings in Zone Edit mode as detailed on pages 4 and 5 of the Parameter Guide:
1) Press [MENU]
2) Use the cursor buttons to select “SCENE EDIT,” and press the [ENTER] button
3) Use the cursor buttons to select the item that you want to edit, and press the [ENTER] button
Essentially it would appear that to transmit Program Change you need to set the Tx Mode of a zone to EXT and then enable the Ext PC setting for that zone.
As I don't own an RD-88 I can't really say more than that but the info in the manual looks like it should be enough to navigate through with a bit of experimentation!

Re: Roland RD-88 Midi Question
Yes thanks guys I did some of the things mentioned in the manuals
but could not bring up the "Midi Transmit PC"On Off switch.... to turn it off
when i scroll down it stops before reaching the PC mode ?????
Im using the RD88 midied to 3 different devices and when i change a voice on the RD88 it changes the voice on the other device so i want to turn Program change to off
Ive been playing for 20 plus years & had many keyboards the program change function was easily accessible

Re: Roland RD-88 Midi Question
Received this help From Roland Canada and it worked…. in case anyone out there has the same issue:
On the RD-88, "MIDI Program Change" is not labelled as such. What you'll need to adjust is the Tx PC (Transmit Program Change) parameter:
Go to: [MENU] > SYSTEM > MIDI
Use the right arrow button [>] to scroll over to SYSTEM MIDI / MIDI TX and change Tx PC to ON
