I have a project that involves using these two loopers (RC505 MK1 and RC505 MK2). My hope is to use the MK2 as the host and the MK1 as the slave, and then create loops on both. On both loopers and all tracks, I have tempo sync and loop sync on, plus fixed loop lengths set before hand, everything seems to go OK at first.
Once I start recording on the MK2 master, the MK1 slave starts to trip up. The light indicating the BPM by the rhythm control on the MK1 then blinks at an uneven tempo (something like two long blinks, two very fast blinks) and any loop created on the MK1 ends up with artifacts as the MK1 tries to timeshift the loop to match the bizarre uneven tempo. If I turn off tempo sync or loop sync to try and make it all work, then I lose necessary aspects of those features to make this track work - besides the fact that the ultimate issue is my MK2 master, once its recorded its first track, is sending some weird BPM to the MK1, and that seems to be the crux of the problem.
Hopefully I've explained this well enough - would love some ideas about what I'm doing wrong! Thanks for reading.

Re: Troubleshooting Syncing BPM from RC 505 MK2 master to RC 505 MK1 slave
I can't help with this problem specifically, but I will say that the RC-505 Mk2 is known to have a few bugs. After suffering loop timing problems I sent mine back within a couple of days and went back to a Mk1.
If there's any problem I would suspect the Mk2 to be the culprit.
My advice would be to try to borrow another Mk1 and see if they sync together correctly.

Re: Troubleshooting Syncing BPM from RC 505 MK2 master to RC 505 MK1 slave
Thanks for replies - I'm going to try a couple things. First I'm updating the MK2 firmware. If that doesn't help, then I'm going to make the MK1 the master and the MK2 the slave. If that doesn't work, then I will slave both MK1 and MK2 to my ipad and run the MIDI clock from AUM. And yeah the MIDI sync is set properly
Will update here what works so if someone searches this in the future it's helpful.

Re: Troubleshooting Syncing BPM from RC 505 MK2 master to RC 505 MK1 slave
Just so this info is available in case anyone has a similar problem:
I updated the MK2 to the latest firmware and it made no difference. Then we switched so that the MK1 is the master and the MK2 is the slave and all problems are resolved.
If anyone has other ideas about something I may be doing wrong I'm certainly still very open to advice and recommendations, because I would prefer the MK2 be the host. But this works for now. Thanks!
