Remotely Controllable Compressors
Re: Remotely Controllable Compressors
By remote controllable, I presume you mean via a plugin?
If so, then WES Audio NG500 series gear counts:
https://wesaudio.com/products/
Or there's the Bettermaker gear:

or...don't focus on HW remote control at all as it narrows your HW search and use SessionRecall. Sure its manual but its a surprisingly useful and cheap tool that helps those of us that work in hybrid studio's greatly...

Re: Remotely Controllable Compressors
Wes Audio do a number of rackmount devices with plug-in remote control too, including a wonderful VCA compressor and an 1176 style FET compressor. Importantly (to me, anyway) their digitally controlled analogue hardware works well on its own — there's no requirement to use the plug-ins.
The Tegeler stuff I've used has been nice too.
I've not used the Bettermaker or McDSP stuff, though have heard only good things.
There may well be other companies going down this road soon...
Do bear in mind if you want 'remote' to be a long way away that a USB connection won't be a good option — better to pick something that supports Ethernet, or some other protocol that works over longer distances.
If analogue isn't important thwre are various digital mixers (some with faders, some rackount boxes) with on board plug-ins that can be remote controlled from a tablet.

"The Best" piece of gear is subjective.
Re: Remotely Controllable Compressors
Another one, which was announced at NAMM the other week: SKnote Vastaso MkII
(And that mixer looks very cool! Watch this space...)

No actual url for the link, Matt.
Reliably fallible.

Re: Remotely Controllable Compressors
How is McDSP stuff different from UAD Unison?
Re: Remotely Controllable Compressors
The McDSP ABP stuff is a plugin controlled piece of analogue hardware. UAD Unison is all software (as is the other McDSP stuff).
