Budget Pro Tools HDX or HD Native
Budget Pro Tools HDX or HD Native
Hi guys. So I am currently looking for my way to budget on the Pro Tools Certified Operator exam. The course catalog (PT 201 and PT 210M) specifically said that I need to have access to Pro Tools HDX or HD Native hardware. I need to know are there any budget options to access those since I am just a broke college student looking to get certified in Pro Tools. Thank you.

The first thing I'd do is speak to your college to see what they have access to, either in house or in partnership with another establishment.

What Drew says.
The courses are delivered by colleges or training centres that provide the equipment required. At least, that's certainly how it worked when I was working in education.
Have you already completed the courses below the 210M? If so, wherever you did that should be able to advise, and if not, you'll need to complete them before being able to enroll on the 210M as far as I can remember.

I have been working with sound techs and engineers since about 49BC and PTs has been a 'thing' since about 2000. In all that time, I have worked with some of the best sound guys on Planet Earth - the sort of people one otherwise gets to read about - people who know Tools to Ninja Level (Def-Com 5).
In all that time I have never asked them if any of them were Pro Tools Certified Operators and I very much doubt that any of them were Pro Tools Certified Operators. In fact, I would say that in today's world of having to deliver in all sorts of formats, it is extremely unlikely!
So my question to you is - Why do you want to become a Pro Tools Certified Operator?

Bit of pedantry here but Def Con 5 is the least severe.
Unless of course that's what you meant which then begs the question of whether certification gets you closer to Def Con 1.

I stand shamefaced and corrected!
P.S. I see that you are at Def Con level 2. I'm not quite sure what that means,. but it sounds impressive!
