One thing that keeps coming up again and again on the forums are questions about noise issues that turns out to be due to the use of a laptop and all class 2 PSUs, so there’s no solid ground reference.
Can we have an SOS article on the issue and practical ways to solve it, then it would be easy to link and refer to, rather than having to reinvent the wheel. Searching for relevant existing articles only turned up a more general Martin Walker article from way back in 2002 and the Groundology plug from 2014.
Other articles may mention lack of a solid ground with class 2 PSUs, but are short on solutions and are often a paragraph in a very long article.
So, what about a dedicated article with a ‘what to look for’ section and a ‘how to solve it’ section with illustrated practical examples?
Time for an article on adding a ground to a class 2 system?

I read your minds...
I have written just such an article... and it was going to be in the next issue... but its quite a big article and we ran out of space so it's had to be put back a month.
But yes, it's already in the pipeline.
It also covers dealing with ground loops and the various connection solutions for these kinds of problems.
The month after that there will be a related article about how to test if an audio device is prone to ground-loop and RFI issues (picking up from another conversation here a while back).

Good news. I would guess that most people who are new to recording will use a laptop and will encounter this issue. If they find the answer on SOS they will be come back and become regular customers.

Hurrah!
Would it be possible to make it available immediately (like some articles are made available), rather than have to wait 3-4 months before it becomes available to all?

Reliably fallible.
Re: Time for an article on adding a ground to a class 2 system?
I doubt it...
The idea of publishing interesting, helpful articles is fundamentally to encourage people to buy magazines which generates income that ultimately allows the team to pay their mortgage, utility and grocery bills.
Putting articles (as opposed to reviews) online for free access, in advance of publication circumvents that, and putting it up for subscribers-only largely defeats the benefit of an early release of this kind of educational feature anyway — it's technical newbs and novices that need it rather than seasoned readers/forum members.
...but it's not my decision.
