How can I make money from creating original loops?

Does anyone here supplement their income by creating original loops? Where can I go to 'sell' my loops?

In my experience, a lot of sound design opportunities are as a result of either submitting samples to companies on spec, or via a personal contact made by word of mouth.

In the case of original loops, once you are known you may be able to contribute to a forthcoming library based on a specific genre, and it normally makes more sense to be meticulous about labeling tempos etc. to make it easier to incorporate them into music tracks.

Or, once you have a decent reputation, you may be able to create entire 'signature' banks in your chosen style.

Make sure you out plenty of effort in, from all perspective, the creating of the loops, putting them out, researching your market etc what goes around comes around

You could do a youtube channel, build up a sizeable following and then monetize it that way? I only mention that as I am doing alot of yt at the moment and I have noticed ppl doing that.

As opposed to the traditional route of selling and distributing loops. Which is maybe a bit old hat now.

From what I know, there's a huge market of younger producers and beatmakers you can sell loops to. If you honed in on them, but the key is "them" (don't try and be too general), I think you could make quite alot of money.

All good points. What Martin said is spot on. But it’s an over-saturated market. The ratio of supply to demand is poor. The rates are very low these days with most outlets and it’s near impossible to market yourself because there are so many “producers”- just try doing your own SEO and you’ll see quickly. There is some truly excellent content out there, and there are some great smaller outlets who are lovely to work with, but it’s simply not viable as a source of income. I only do it for fun.
