How to tell if I already entered the draw?

Post by ManFromGlass »

I often forget if I have entered a draw. I click on the Win! Link and start filling out the info. But sometimes the questions or tie-breaker seem familiar.

Is there anyway to tell if I already entered? I assume only 1 entry per person.

Reliably fallible.

Write your wittiest, finest tie-breaker ever, hit submit and get a message saying that you've already entered.

I think the winning witty 'tie breaker' should be published! Or scrapped! Do they really read all the tie breakers to decide which is best?! I suspect not! What merits are these judged on?
I'd have thought a random pick of the correct answers would be far more robust against any accusations of foul play....(Not suggesting there is foul play!)
PLEASE scrap the silly tie break question!

Nooo! Keep it. Just a bit of fun. Besides, whether it's read or not, if you can't be bothered to fill it in, why should any bother to put your name in the hat?

Yes right now it is like - “If a tree falls in the forest . . ” situation.
I swear my tie-breakers have them rolling on the floor! :bouncy:

Whether from laughter or not being able to believe someone could be so dim witted!

On the serious note I think I tried to enter a second time and it automatically wasn’t allowed. I’ll see what happens when I try a second time. Not that I expect to win although once I actually did win a draw - it consisted of about 10 software instruments of a companies worst offerings that weren’t disclosed until you won.

It's long been my hope that one day the Powers That Be would share some of the winning entries for our amusement and to learn what sort of entries win for our education. Sadly, however, the said Powers have not yet seen the wisdom of my proposal and so we must all remain ill-educated. I wonder if they feel that by so doing they avoid the risk of discontented entrants complaining that their entry was ten times better than the winner? That would make sense though I cannot believe anyone on the forum would be so boorish. In any case that risk might be avoided by only displaying winning entries from a year or two years in the past. Come on! It would make a very cheap article :)

I think you're correct.
