The ordinary variety, not the new special ones. Tjarko and I on guitars only, but it seems to get the job done. Check his mic and amp!

Cigarettes
Re: Cigarettes
I think that would work with some double-bass and brushes, but it doesn't need it.

Yes, although in some of the more winkworthy parts of life, I know exactly what I want, so it's more a matter of negotiation and compromise. Or turn-taking.

Where's my hat?

Re: Cigarettes
I'm glad people seem to like it, Eddy. But there's something about it that's strange - I grew up on the Dead, Captain Beefheart, Velvet Underground, Country Joe and the Fish - middle of the roaders like that
yet when I come up with my own stuff, it sounds like music for old people. Okay, I trust the process and I like the stuff I write, but the distance between my stuff and the truly unconventional music I adored as a pimply yoof amazes me. How did that happen?

You gotta wear the right gear dawwwg.
Collaborate with bonkers folk you click with.
Imagine you are Arthur Brown.
One quick thing to preehaps try.
In DAW chopping up the recording, applying different FX to different chopped parts, reassembling the chopped FX laden parts in random order.

Your music is what it is, just like all of us, we have our influences, but do we really want to sound like them? What's the point in making a second rate version of something that someone else has already done much better than we can.
I think there comes a point in our musical lives when we feel confident, with just being ourselves, that can take many years for some, it took me about 55.
It’s when you don’t care anymore, when you just do what you like, and what sounds good to you, with absolutely no consideration for what went before, or who’s going to listen to it.
Beefheart, Velvet Underground, seminal bands for me too, the advantage they had over me was they reached the point that I reached at 55, when they were 15, that’s the difference.
