Izotope RX10 standalone program crashing

Post by JAB Studio »

As the subject says, I am having issues with the standalone rx editor crashing. Firstly, I have a desktop windows system that is rock solid, no crashes. I also have a MSI laptop that is crashing when I play a file in the editor. I have an IK Multimedia iRig interface and using their asio driver causes a crash with every attempted play. If I use asio4all, and choose my iRig as device it works most of the time. Occasional crashes. The bottom line is that the RX10 editor is super finicky and crashes a lot while other apps like pro tools, Sony vegas, etc. play fine.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any of these issues. If so, what should I try to fix it.

I will have time this weekend to do some serious troubleshooting and will update with details as they emerge.

I love RX10 and really need it to be stable on my laptop.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Always been super stable on my PC and laptop, working with RME, Focusrite and Zoom interfaces and Asia drivers.

Best I can suggest is to make sure you've got the latest update version and do a full de-install/reinstall.

Thanks Hugh for the reply.

I have had some time to try to isolate this issue and the common theme is RX10 using the IK multimedia iRig HD2 will not work on windows PC's. I have updated firmware, tried older 5.30 driver along with the newest 5.50 driver. Three different PC's on windows 10 exhibit the same result. If I use the iRig ASIO driver, RX10 crashes every time on every PC (I've tried 3) I have. I can force it to work by using the ASIO4ALL driver but would really like to get the native IK multimedia driver to function properly. All other audio software runs fine. Pro tools, vegas video, cakewalk, Jam Origin MIDI Guitar, it's just RX10 that doesn't like the iRig HD2 ASIO driver.

Thats frustrating, but at least you've narrowed the problem down to specific equipment and software independent of PC hardware. I'd raise support tickets with Izotope and IK asking them to look into the problem.

Exactly. Sounds as if a collaborative effort will be needed to solve this.

Thanks,

Update: just got an email from IK Multimedia support team. Hopefully we can find the problem and remedy it.

Hey @Jab Studio, did you get anywhere with this? I've just installed RX 10 Advanced today and had the exact same problem with my IK Multimedia Mic HD 2.
