I have a drum take here where the stick hitting the cymbal is too prominent and there's not enough actual 'cymbal'
I've tried the transient shape modifier in my console 1 and a bit of waves C6, but I'm still not happy.
In reality I'm pretty certain the drummer just wasn't hitting the cymbals hard enough
Any ideas? I'd like to try and salvage this, but I guess there is the option of re-recording sometime in the future.
Over-prominent stick sound in overheads.

Oeksound Spiff is really good at dealing with this. Might be worth trying a demo?

You could layer a sample in sync, or even use sample replacement. Sometimes that’s difficult to pull off, though, if the problem is with the overheads.

You might be able to improve things with some spectral editing but it could be very time consuming, especially if it's a fairly complicated part.
