Imagine my disappointment when it turned out not to be a song about a sausage.

Nice tune, though. Loved the solo.

Great pitch wasn't it! Another subtly nuanced genre buster! Too kind re the solo - it took as much time to write as it did to play. Both happened at the same time.

Time to start the next one! That one was better out than in

Yes. The closest I ever come to soloing is improv scat singing. The best ones are made up on the spot.

I think the vocal could do with that 70’s/80’s monosodium glutamate of the Eventide H910, and all will be well, just pass your voice through it, nothing more to do,

(OK, maybe a little bit of distortion as well)

Doesn't really work for me. Not that I think there's anything wrong, just doesn't float my boat.

Interesting! I didn't know about those - thanks. I think that's the only bit of kit I've seen where the plug in version is more expensive than the outboard hardware version! Next time I've got a spare couple of hundred squids I'll get one.
Cheers!

An H910 will cost about £1,500 upwards, same for an Instant Flanger, I got my H910 for £150 from the Notting Hill Record and Tape exchange in the 90’s.
If you buy this stuff from Sound Gas or other trendy places it’ll cost you thousands.
Get a Boss SE50 for distortion, and an SE70 for pitch, and you can forget about Eventide.

OK. When I get another couple of hundred I'll scour ebay and Reverb.com for these too. Although - I do have vox distortion from a stompy box thing. Also Melodyne for pitch correction. I just didn't use them . I thought we were going all warts and all commando style on our vocals these days. I can't keep up.

Record and Tape Exchnge, the early 90’s, yes, I saw a Prophet 10 there, AMS RMS16/1580S thrown on the floor, so much stuff, going for f**k-all, if I had a few grand in my pocket at the time I could have cleaned up.

I see a lot of stuff on Reverb like that - but you have to be careful where its being sold from or get import charges. It all makes me lament the loss of my Watkins Copykat which I bought second hand in 1981. It had a beautiful sound - but it was difficult to get tapes for it even then. They're very rare units now.

I never buy from abroad, always UK only, it’s just not worth it.
The Copycat uses standard quarter inch tape if I remember, just a matter of splicing a loop.
