Re: Fuzzy Duck Pickups = Opinions
No, I haven’t.
UK based but I very much doubt for those prices they are made in the UK. They’ll almost certainly be UK designed and made somewhere in Asia, like Iron Gear and Tonerider (which are very good pickups). I’m sure the Fuzzy Ducks will be just as good.
If you are looking for a good, cheap, vintage-style Strat pickup set, I’ve now fitted two sets of ‘Alnicov’ brand Alnico V pole-piece magnet Strat pickups to two different guitars and have been very impressed. A recommended sound upgrade for the lower rank Squiers and similar (I’d even consider putting them on mire expensive guitars if yiu want a vintage Strat sound). Available from Amazon UK for around £32 (my first set was £28). Middle pickup is RWRP. Cloth-covered output wires and fibre bases etc. Only downside are what I feel to be nasty pickup covers that are very shiny and to me have a slight green tinge. But if you can reuse the originals, or find some better replacements, then you’ll be OK.
If you can live with the colour you can take the shine off the covers with some P2000 grit sandpaper or wire wool (remove the covers from the pickups first).
Just be aware they also sell ceramic-bar Strat pickups for just a bit less, so choose the right ones.

That set is all 52mm pole spacing, but they also do a set with 48mm/50mm/52mm pole spacing, which suits some Squiers really well and you get the strings running centrally over all the pickup poles. The downside is again the covers, and I couldn’t find any replacement sets for the ones I fitted to my Squier Strat Mini, so had to live with the colour (I did try to stain them with tea but it didn’t take).

Reliably fallible.

I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIYdvZDpaps
The Fuzzy Ducks sound a bit more hyped than the Tex Mex I think - I don't think they sound cheaper. But its all personal preference.
