Hi all,
Can anyone confirm that the MOTU midi express 128 uses the USB 2.0 protocol?
I've searched online but I can't seem to find this information.
Cheers, Paul

No, it's USB 1.1
I have one and the common 2003 manual (so after USB 2 came out) for all the MOTU MIDI interfaces just mentions USB. If it needed a USB2 connection, it would say so.
MIDI doesn't require much bandwidth, and USB1.1 was more than capable of passing 16 streams (8 in, 8 out) of MIDI data.
The data rate for USB1.0 'slow speed' is 1.5Mbps, and 1.1 'high speed' is 12Mpbs.
16 streams of MIDI data flat out would be 0.5Mbps, so even slow speed USB1.0 could in theory handle it.

Reliably fallible.

Thanks for your reply Wonks,
That's fine. I have the MOTU midi interface that I'm using with my laptop USB 3.0. I'm getting a new computer that has USB 2.0 and I just wanted to make sure that it would work with that.
Cheers, Paul
