It's going to vary all over the place as it won't have been played to a click track. but someone will have taken the lead and the rest of the band will have followed their tempo changes.

It's definitely not a verse = tempo A, chorus = tempo B, solo = tempo c type song.

Reliably fallible.

The song begins at around 119bpm and by the end it has risen to something approaching 125bpm. That might suggest the song was played live in the studio, at least the main guitar and drums.

Yes, there would be no click track or metronome I'm pretty sure, and so the tempo would have evolved naturally.

Very much doubt click track too. Back then a click track was something engineers threatened people with who were unruly. Every drummer I've known has hated them - and some just refused point blank to try and play to them.

If you beat-map the song you will see the it was recorded to a click. 4:4 time for hard of thinking!

On first listen it does sound like one of those songs where the tempo is directly related to how loud/full the arrangement is.

I spent 10 minutes investigating it with a click and gave up. Hopeless drummer.

Story goes Nick Mason was having trouble with the time signatures on Mother, so the Floyd called in Jeff Porcaro. Jeff did it in one take like it was a walk in the park.
