AKG Lyra vs iPad 10th generation

Hi - I have an iPad 10th gen which has a USB-C port instead of the older Lightning port.

Can I connect an AKG Lyra direct to this port, ie without the need for a powered USB hub? I’ll be using GarageBand.

Looking for a stereo USB mic for informal acoustic guitar recording, so happy to consider any alternatives to the Lyra.

Have you tried it?* If so and it doesn't work you likely need some kind of 'On-The-Go' adapter. If you just plug the mic in using a USB-C - USB-C cable the iPad expects to be a slave as does the mic so neither will act as host, the OTG allows the iPad to act as host.

AKG may well have tested the mic with iPads but it's probably Apple tech support you need to talk to WRT your iPad 10 supporting direct connection of a USB mic.

The mic will almost certainly be class compliant and won't need any drivers to run on Mac OS or iOS.

Yep powered recorded just with usbC to usbC cable direct to 2018 ipad pro usbC port.
No powered hub.

If you do get Lyra from cex purchasing online only gives 14days to check it ooot thereafter keep it with 2years warranty or return to any cex store within 14 days full refund : online purchase only.
I have done this numerous times.
