Good Pipe Organ Plugin Instrument for Black Friday?

Post by Jez Corbett »

I've been meaning to get a good pipe organ vst, some nice, realistic, imposing, perhaps varied selection. Now it's black friday, thought I'd snap one up if there's one going for a good deal.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Well, I’ve only got one, but I like it - the Italian Concert Organ.

Hi,

Modarrt OrganTeq 2 looks like it's 25% off.

I haven't used it, but if it's as nice as PianoTeq, it should sound pretty good!

I’ve got Hauptwerk, very nice, great acoustics, right down to the blower noise.

Has anybody here done this.
Played inside a church chapel our favourite Organ vst sample on loud speakers.
I've never done this I'd love to hear my favourite Organ vst included with Cakewalk Dimension inside a church chapel.
As for playing a real church Organ inside a church I've done this only once when I was sure nobody was around, pulled out all the stops indescribable the feeling.

A good multi-channel reverb and playback system will get you most of the way there. :D
Atmos if you want some height...

I've heard a few digital organs in churches, which is the same thing really.
I also saw the late Carlo Curley on tour. He brought his digital organ and speakers to the venue.

I play our village church organ when nobody else can or will. It’s basically only a single keyboard with a bottom octave of pedals, so I don’t have to pretend I can play the D minor toccata and fugue, Suite Gothique or the Vidor toccata.

I have used my Nord baroque organ (on the C2D) in there but one day I’ll have a go with bigger speakers. On the whole the church is too small for the full monty but a smaller organ does sound quite pleasant.

I’ve tried several virtual organs on my iPad, one of which is hard to shut down properly and runs the battery down. They’ve all sounded reasonably good on decent speakers or even headphones. I took them off a while back and haven’t got round to anything beyond Jeux d’Orgue mini since, which I’ve barely looked at. Too busy in retirement …

I feel to be able to transport listeners on a journey with an instrumental, vocal performance is a gift.
Wherever performed from street to pub to a tent to football stadium to albert hall to religious building.
Whichever museek.
Tangerine Dream performed in Cathedrals.
I had dreams of transporting listeners inside a church with an Organ recital of my own stuff butt I'm too chicken and I would fluff it terribly causing the audience to cough loudly thereafter swiftly depart lol.

Rodgers the electronic organ company did a demo of their top of the range organ in Wells Cathedral a few years back, in a back to back AB against the Cathedral’s Harrison and Harrison. Our then church organist was invited to the event and he said it was very hard to say which was playing at times.

It’s the acoustic of a large church, or cathedral, it can’t be equalled by any artificial reverberation system, often, buildings, and organs, are designed hand in hand.
