A couple of years ago I noticed a Kickstarter project to create a documentary about a long-forgotten '70s synth called the Resynator. IIRC it might have been guitar-driven or something.

Only a handful of these were made, so I was surprised to see one turn up on eBay this morning.

Re: The Resynator
Interesting! It's non functional, though. The film seems to be entering it's final production, though the last update has the ominous title "What it is to Fail", but it's only for backers to read.

"The Best" piece of gear is subjective.

A neat story.

Alison was gutted to not have the film accepted into Sundance (although there were over *seventeen thousand entries* competing for 150 slots, apparently, so it was always going to be hard to get in...)
"The good news is that the edit is FINALLY finished with animation, graphics and score, and we are now in color and sound mix mode. We’ll have a festival-ready film by mid January."

And here's a link to the thread that Alison herself started on the SOS Forums back in 2016 about her dad's Resynator:

Re: The Resynator
Hey everybody - happy New Year! I grabbed that Resynator from eBay and it should be here in a few days. I still can't believe it. There were three units sent to the UK in 1981 so I assume that this is one of those three. If anyone ever happens to come across any of the other units, I'd love to know! my email is alison at resynator dot com. I hope to someday find the other two and get them all working again.
My film is finishing up and it'll be doing the festival circuit this year which I'm really excited about. It is by no means a synth/technical documentary but I do still hope y'all will check it out and hopefully enjoy it!
