New studio album out next month

Post by Aled Hughes »

Hi all!

It's been 8 years since our last studio album, though we did release a live album before Christmas which a few of you kindly donated towards.

The new album will be available on March the 1st on CD and at a later date - a first for us - vinyl.

Pre-orders are up now, and a few tracks are available to hear:

https://crhb.bandcamp.com/album/mynd-r-t-am-dro

We'll also be going on tour in March, in case anyone here's interested! I'll post dates shortly.

Funnily enough, someone else from York asked if we were going that way. If we get the date right there’d at least be two there then!

Any decent venues/theatres you know of?!

The Crescent, community-owned venue. Good-sized room, good sound, and conveniently close to me! :D

Great playing on "Clawdd Eithin". Nice sparkly high end (yet natural) on the instruments and vocal too! Thank you for sharing.

If you’re thinking of playing further afield, The Quarter House in Folkestone, good venue, might be worth investigating, only mentioning it because I'd come.

Crikey, that’s half way to Switzerland from here

We are thinking of maybe sorting a few dayes in England though. Used to play London fairly often ten years or so ago.

London would be good, seeing as I virtually live there these days :(
The only venue near me is the Dublin Castle in Camden, where it’s relatively easy to get a gig, a lot of new bands from outside London play there.

Omghost lol stayed 2doors down from there as a kid. I'm trying to recall what Quarter House was. Always took the shortcut upto Grace Hill from there. Grace Hill Library still one of the airiest with its huge top to floor windows sun streaming in libraries ive seen.
Love that the post office is still there painted green now opposite quarter house, used to take
steps up next to post office as short cut to Dover Road.
Best short cut to top of dover road hill was near start of harbour opposite where old high street starts, 5mins short cut else 20mins the longway. Used to be tonnes of arcades there at the start of old high street loved the arcades as a kid.

The Good Ship pub in kilburn (kill and burn) was a cracking venuu butt lockdown meant didn't survive.
Went to a gig there I think 2017. Alongside audience space infront of the stage area there was an elevated audience area to the right so could look down to see the whole band that's where I was to see the gig.

Kill and burn's most famouse venuu was Gaumont State Cinema, many of the Jazz giantz Django and Stephane Grapelli, Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, John Coltrane played there
also Frank Sinatra, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, the Who, the Stoned, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath.

Seeing as the option was there, I've arranged an online Bandcamp 'listening party' for the album on February 28th at 7pm- here's a link if you'd like to come along!

That sounds good, it's a non-sosage week as well.

I also might have to pick your brains of the mechanics on the virtual launch party thing.

Would be good to see you there!

I haven't done it before, but it was all quite straightforward and easy to follow from the Bandcamp page. The page for the 'party' is now automatically set-up, and it tells me how many people have RSVP'd (don't ask...) but not their names. From what I understand the album will start playing on that page at the designated time, and there is a chat box on the side of the page. From what I can see, merchandise and downloads are highly visible on the page to try and boost sales. We'll see how it goes!
