Windows update error?

Post by Arpangel »

Updating my Windows 10 music PC yesterday after about 6 months, got an error message after it failed to install Error 0x80070643
Just wondering if others have had this lately?

It appears to be a known problem but not a serious one. More info here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windo ... 231msgdesc

My laptop did that earlier in the week. Everything's fine.

If Macs are so superior and reliable why are there 3495 posts on the Mac forum? ;)

Why do bad things mostly seem to happen to people who light up a room when they enter it?

Is it because ... owning the trouble-free Macs has freed up so much extra time that the posters are bored and just looking for something (anything!) to do??

Nope. Can't be that... otherwise you'd be inundated with Linux commentards

My iMac crashed very badly, Apple repaired it out of warranty free of charge, while I waited. In 8 years that has been the only issue.
I'm from a PC background, but wouldn’t go back now, it all just feels a bit clunky after using a Mac.
I'm using both PC and Mac, but only out of necessity.

I am a committed PC person, and heavily invested in PC software. But I do think that if I could turn the clock back think I would choose Apple. I am typing this on my old iPad Air 2, I was given it many years ago in payment for some help I gave a family. It performs amazingly well, I watch tv on it, it connects to BBC iPlayer in an instant, performs flawlessly, all whilst browsing the internet, checking emails, listening to radio, I can switch from one task to another seamlessly, it just works, and works so well.

On the whole, the PC works well, but those incessant Microsoft updates makes it throw a wobbler, changes settings, Outlook eMail client is giving trouble that is an issue acknowledged by Microsoft an£ they don’t seem at all bothered about fixing it. My Android phone has all but been taken over by Google.

If other Apple products are as good as my iPad Air, I am seriously considering going all in with Apple

Following the last W10 update my Samplitude Pro X 6 throws the error
" error whilst initiating EuCon: Library not found"

I have posted this to the Magix community but have so far had no response.

But in general I have had very little trouble with Windows over the years.

Do you own an AVID control surface? I thought that was what EuCon was for... :!:

It was meant as a very tongue in cheek comment. I suspect that both are equally reliable for the vast majority of users.

The free process monitor tool from sysinternals can help track down missing DLLs, set log filter to show only errors
