My AlphaTrack came home!

Post by The Elf »

Decided I needed my old friend back, and current user was happy to part with it, so... she's home again.

A bit of jiggery to get those old Win 7-ish drivers installed on Win 11 and... working as well as ever.

The X-Touch, UC-1 and AlphaTrack work really well as a combo - they look like a patchwork quilt built by the Frankenstein family, but they do complement each other nicely.

Great machine. Interesting you are combining it with the others. I really like its layout and the ribbon. Very fast for dropins when recording.

I'm still using mine in Mac Big Sur, thanks to Cameron Jones writing a new driver a few years ago. I also had to replaced the motor. Luckily got the last motorised fader Farnell had in stock.

I was just about to try again to hook mine up to my old Mac tower. I remember I couldn’t figure it out in the past so I’ll try again. It’s the perfect size and has a few functions I’d use a lot.

But definitely for use with a tower system.

Still mourning the loss of my 'Jedi Poster" status :)

People often mistake me for a grown-up because of my age.
