Free string library

Can any suggest any free string libraries or similar ?

I have noticed on ios the amount of free stuff is crazy, just wondered if there are any strings that I could use for some of my songs.

Or even something that is cheap but good ? To use with Cubase/Windows

Not sure if Spitfire are still doing a free version of their BBC strings? They used to offer it in return for filling in a questionnaire.

Spitfire's BBC SO Discover might be a good starter option:

I think it's still free.

I just had a look at a current tune.
I only use free strings.
These are the free I'm using :
Miroslav Philharmonic 2 CE*;
Spitfire Labs;
Spitfire BBC Symphony Orchestra.

* Isn't free any more bummer. Was free until September last year.

What kind of string library. For pop, classical, film?
And what's your budget? Paying a small amount will vastly improve your quality and options.

BBCSO Discover is indeed still free, and is now an instant download, too. As mentioned above, Spitfire's LABS series has some string offerings as well. VSL also have a couple of free instruments that I think include some strings, and Orchestral Tools' Layers is another one might be worth a look.
