Kontakt 6.8 won't load Session Guitarist

For several years now I've been happily running Session Guitarist Electric Sunburst Deluxe. Today I pulled up an old project to revisit and pulled up Kontakt and went to load the Session Guitarist, and I get the error "Your Version of Kontakt is too old to load this file Please update to the latest version"

I mean. What the Actual Fudge?

This is a product I bought from NI years ago. I made an album with it all over all the tracks, and now all of a sudden it want's me to pay to upgrade? To use a product I own and bought with real money?

Is there a workaround, or am I being forced to upgrade Kontakt to V7?

Have you upgraded/changed your computer since you last opened Kontakt, or maybe changed it's operating system?

OK, This is why:

Many of our products received an update for NKS2 compatibility and polyphonic aftertouch. These library versions require the latest Kontakt 7 (Player) in order to run correctly.

But in their infinite wisdom, they let Native Access do the update on these products automatically even though it's clear my products don't include Kontakt 7, and that is a paid upgrade.

Very sneaky way of forcing you to spend more money with them (which I'm not in a position to do right now) Annoyed to say the least!

Yeah, I think that's the work-around for now until I can afford to do the upgrade

I found this out by (accidently!) reading the info for one of the upgrades when using Native Access. I'm sticking with K6 for now so downgraded to the previous version I had installed.

(It wasn't Session Guitarist in my case, but another NI library.)
