Help Needed: Setting up a 'bar / pub' tv audio, HDMI via mixer

Post by D.Jones1991 »

Hi,

First of all, let me apologise if this is posted in the wrong section
Secondly thanks for any help in advance.

So as per the Subject,

I am trying to set up the TV's / Music in a bar i'm opening, but i'm a little unsure how to do it.

for the general day to day music. i want to run that off an old PC i have,
and for the sound of the TV when the sports is on, well i have one of them TV boxes but the only output is a single HDMI port.

my idea is to split the HDMI, one output goes to the TV whilst the other goes to the mixer, nd from the mixer to the speakers, but i don't know what is best to turn the HDMI into only audio and then into the correct input for the mixer,

here is the mixer i have:

and i have 4 of these 10 inch speakers: (no audio cable yet as i didn't know what to order)

So yeah, Basically i'm a little out of my depth and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Dan

It would be a big help to have clear pictures of the speaker and mixer labeling, but meanwhile:

For the splitter this looks good:

cables:

looks like you have speakon connectors, so something like this to first pair, plus just regular wire from those to the other 2. Assuming they are are 8 ohm cabinets and the amplifier can handle a 4 ohm load. Likely does

"The Best" piece of gear is subjective.

That HDMI splitter looks handy! I have a box that is "HDMI thru" but also delivers audio and composite video which I can capture on a Freeview recorder.

I have set up a number of installations using this kind of tech. Although it may be the same tech inside the box as the one linked to above, I usually go for the Orei branded units. 100% success rate so far. The weak point will be the PSU. Buy a spare.
