Internet Radio Schedule Slot

Post by amanise »

Righto.

It appears I'll be featuring on an Internet radio station called DJ Plug Radio this Saturday (18th) between midday and 3pm UK time. I'm told it will also be recorded for later access if required.

I'm not sure what they're covering exactly, but they've taken details of and auditioned "The Narcissist" - but also details of the Bandcamp album "90 Seconds To Midnight", and a biog.

Ways to listen;
https://djplugradio.co.uk
https://mytuner-radio.com/radio/dj-plug-radio-486688/
https://www.radio-uk.co.uk/dj-plug-radio
Ask Alexa to play dj plug radio.
Fire Stick, Apple TV, Android TV, LG Smart TV, Samsung Smart TV or Roku TV -
listen on the My Tuner Radio App.

I'm glad I've finished "Mrs Blimey" now - I might be needing her help!

Thanks very much both! We shall see what it brings! I just heard they are scheduling a repeat for some time during next week and will let me know what time and day that's going to happen on. Plus they want all the other tracks going into the album as well - if I'm prepared to let them run them.

Please let us know about how to access the recorded version.

You mentioned in the other thread it sounded very different to you compared to when you play them from your home system (DAW, etc.).

Can you pinpoint what sounded different to you ... maybe the radio process made it over-compressed?

Were you listening to your songs today through the same set of speakers, cans, etc. that you usually do?

And ... congrats!! 🎶 🎙

Yes, I'd like it if we could all put some discussion to that - so I've awakened the original post in Musicians Lounge to air that one. Better there away from the Internet than here, I thought. I think its something we could all learn from. And thank you, for your support as always. Much appreciated!

Thanks, amanise!

Is there a non-FB alternative way to listen, by any chance?

What I hadn't realised is he opened the show with The Narcissist, and then featured two other tracks later on. >Gulp<

Listened 21 min into the show ... your song was by far the most interesting and fun!

If you have a moment to give the times your other two songs play, I'll zip to there to listen.

Great work, congrats!!

Thanks Alexis - I didn't tune in to the first part of the show so I had missed that one. I think what they do is play one from each artist submitting in the first hour which ends up as file 1. Then they feature any other tracks they get sent in the second, and then the third if people send 3 in. I had just sent them the one - and they then went to SoundCloud and picked the other two themselves. They picked ones I probably wouldn't have done - which is what surprised me.

Did you see the Integrated LUFS of the stream though?? -10.5 !! My RX tells me there are literally thousands of clips on each channel. DC offsets all over the place too. Yet when I played it on my room monitors it sounded surprisingly good. I was expecting it to all sound terrible! And though the tracks are all very different - they all sound full bodied and well balanced. I'm bamboozled!

The other 2 tracks are found in file 2 @ 28:15 to 37:30. Bit murky at the low end and too busy - but they are pretty old ones now. Have no idea why they picked them.

Done, great stuff, as always!

Your sonic palette is so intriguing. It's rare I don't feel compelled to listen multiple times. That's a good thing in my book!

I especially liked the first one ("Watcher?, sorry). Made me think of Jethro Tull meets Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd, and all on psychedelics ... oh, I guess that last part is redundant! 😄

That's very kind of you to say, they picked those two themselves and gave me something of a surprise! Those are a few years old now and at the time I was throwing in everything and the kitchen sink. I am much more restrained now. I liked watcher too. The other one I just hear as weird now, but they picked them, not me. They have odd names with bracketed add ons because they are remixes of songs I originally released on CDbaby where I was disguising my voice with effects. My 2024 tracks are less weird from the outset. But everyone evolves. Early Bowie stuff is super weird. Thanks for listening and commenting! It's much appreciated!
