I have a pair of tannoy reveal 802.
The back of one is getting hot to touch.
The rear black back metal cover has discoloured due to heat I believe
I sometimes get a clipping / click sound.
Anyone have any suggestions/ experience of this ?
Thanks in advance.

One of my 5As failed a year or so ago and I found the big Molex connector from transformer to power amp PCB had gone brown and high resistance. I just chopped it out and soldered the wires in.
So maybe Tannoy have not taken quite as much trouble as they should have done with the cooling? My speakers are however quite some years old. Are you up to taking them apart?
One day KH150s....one day! Or!! I might win the Adams?
Dave.

I guess I could take a look inside , any teardown advice? can't find anything online Assume just remove the perimeter screws and the back comes off, are the components attached to the back ?

Ah, I think this is one of those situations where "if you have to ask you probably shouldn't be doing it". Not being rude, I don't know how to 'diss' it either but I have the experience to wing it. I have no idea what's inside but are you up to de-soldering and replacing a big, multipin power amp chip? That's what was in my 5A.
Dave.
