Yoshimi Drum

Post by Folderol »

One of Yoshimi's little band of helpers (TM) has produced a remarkably effective (and expressive) drum instrument patch. This is both velocity and pitch sensitive. He has also posted an example audio file using it.
The audio file is here. The extension looks a bit strange, but Audacitiy has no problem playing it.

For Yoshimi users, the patch itself is here.

I've been in touch with the designer, and this will be going in the next 'master' commit (just misses one I did today).
It was inspired by Taiko drumming, but he didn't think it justified being called a Taiko drum. However I suggested calling it synTaiko and he agreed, so that's what it will be :D
