I need more than 2 Midi ports on my audio interface for recording...

Discuss hardware/software tools and techniques involved in capturing sound, in the studio, live or on location.

Probably. Musician computers are a bit of a niche market.

Midi interfaces are a "mature technology". There hasn't really been any improvement in them for the last 20 years or more because they work perfectly well. The only thing to check is that the interface you use is class compliant (which means that it is likely to work with any computer you choose) or that it has a recent driver for your operating system (which the MOTU interfaces do).

Well thanks everyone for the advice. I've just taken Hugh's advice and bought the MOTU MIDI 128 Express on Ebay.
Cheers,
