Hello, I have a yamaha 01v96 mixer and I can't connect it to the pc I want with air fader. When I put the usb cable in, no computer sees it, nothing can be heard that it has found the device, etc... I've been facing this problem for some time.
If the computer can't find the desk at all then I'd make sure you've installed the correct driver for your operating system. It might be worthwhile uninstalling any previous drivers first.
I'm unclear what you're trying to do via USB. Do you want to control the desk remotely (in which case you'll also need to install the Studio Manager software)? Or are you trying to control a DAW with the console?
I run a DM1000 over usb to/from win 10 and the installation was very straightforward. I dont recall any setup issues at all.

The problem is that I want to connect it to the pc with air fader, but I can't connect it with any computer, the drivers are taken from the yamaha website. But in any pc I put the usb cable does not recognize the mixer even on new usb devices etc. Where is the problem with this mixer?

It doesn't work on any computer and other usb ports, do you have to let go of the mixer or configured differently to see it pc ul? Leaving the air fader I'm interested in seeing it on your computer.
My Dm2000 (v2) wasn't a plug and play setup on both PC or Mac - it did require a bit of faff but eventually it saw the Studio Manager software and has since behaved from there as both a controller and a straight mixer..
On the other hand, my Dm1000 refuses to see or work with any version of Studio Manager but seems happy enough to work as a controller for PT (usually, at least) and also sees midi time-code..
It might be worth searching for my old Dm2k thread and seeing if there's any glint of hope you can find in there?

That's why I asked those who own these mixers to help me because I can't get them to see the computers, in the pictures posted, is the configuration in the mixer good or not? I am referring to usb ports because vcm or dm are not far from it.
Nick, you may have to assign the USB to Studio Manager on the 01V96.
The following should get you started:
Press the DISPLAY ACCESS [DIO/SETUP] button repeatedly until the DIO/Setup | MIDI/Host page appears.
Under "Special Functions" block select "USB" as the port for Studio Manager.
I also use AirFader as a remote control for my 01V96VCM. If you get stuck, let me know and I will pull it out of storage and confirm any other settings you may need to change.
You're setting off my Post Traumatic Studio-Manager Disorder. I had the 01v96 and what a great piece of kit they were but trying to get it to live with SM was like pulling teeth. It would report no device found, yet showed it (01v96) listed as a device, sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't
I was up for trading up to the 01v96i, what a perfect setup mixer/controller/16io interface, but my experience with the SM made me abandon the idea

My DM1000 is similar - I've all but given up with the idea of remote control via SM. I'm aware that versions of the console OS / and SM software are quite fussy in terms of compatibility.

I installed all the drivers, I did all the steps and still the mixer is not seen by any computer, I also changed the usb cables and in vain is the usb port defective.

Plug som, ething else into the USB port, that should tell you if it is defective? Or is your question, is the 01v96 USB Port defective?
Do you have a friend, family member with a computer you could connect the 01v96 to, to test cables, ports etc
I am sure mine showed up in the Windows Sound/Audio devices in Computer Manager, where all connected devices are enumerated. If a connected device is faulty, it is indicated
Why did Microsoft 'hide' the Device Manager, it is such a useful utility
When I power up my dm1000, part way through its boot up the computer beeps as it recognises the USB connection.
The desk is set to USB port 1, id 1. Studio manager sees it and communicates bidirectionally. It just works, so I don't know what to suggest other than the classic option of uninstall and reinstall the drive and studio manager.
It might be worth checking in device manager that the computer is actually seeing the desk. That would confirm the USB connection, at least.

There is no beep and it is not seen by any PC in other devices, which makes me think that the port is defective from Yamaha
