The first part of an occasional series exploring modular synthesis with William Stokes talking to various composers about their modular choices and featuring a live performance at the end of each interview. In this episode he talks to Scanner about his career, his module selection and the friendliness of the modular community.

The modular community is very friendly, the only problem I find is that they just want to talk about modules, nothing else, it's a bit like car clubs, it's a very limited form of conversation, so I tend to drift away. When I mention cauliflowers, or other things, like drum brushes, people just look at me in a very blank way.
Just noticed, he mentions the Equation Composer, I'm insanely jealous, this module is pure gold, pure inspiration.
I sold mine in a moment of madness, it's a module, that enabled me to make the most of a live modular performance, my live rig was one 3U case of 104HP, I needed nothing more with the Equation Composer at it's heart, unfortunately they are no longer made.
Please bring it back!
