I am looking to do some live broadcasts and have so far only used iPhone - Zoom H5 - YouTube
What I would like to do is connect an DSLR to my PC as a webcam and use my audio interface for the sound, as opposed to the awful camera audio, It's a bit ambitious for me to be honest, does anybody know the way...

Re: Syncing webcam with audio interface
I shall follow this thread. A couple of weeks ago son and I realized that Skype is inherently one channel.
I use a headset with a USB dongle but he now runs a pair of Lewitt 040s through his M4 and found the ch 2 mic does not work. There seems to be a way to get stereo Skype but we haven't worked it out so far!
Dave.

I'd start by having a look at OSB Studio. Should do exactly what you need.
I've only had a brief play with it but there's lots of tutorials on YouTube and it's pretty intuitive.

In the past, when I've reluctantly dabbled with video, I've found it pretty simple to sync audio after the event. As long as each device captures audio the software can sync them. I think I was using Adobe Premier back then, but I no longer use Adobe software.

I said the same thing to Scouser a month ago in another thread.
So, what's the gear list?

Obviously I’m building up to it as well as losing my memory, sorry sonics
I feared someone would say one I had a feeling that would be the way forward as you say YouTube is the way to go, I think it just looks intimidating all those windows !
As I mentioned it’s live I need to do with sound, theoretically, surely that shouldn’t be too difficult he says…..

You should be able to do what you need in OBS. I've not used it for streaming, only recording, so I've not had to do this — but I believe it's possible to delay audio or video sources.

Put simply, the process is something like this:
♦ Set the camera up to output clean video.
♦ Connect your camera/webcam to the PC.
♦ Set up your mics and audio interface.
♦ Install the latest version of OBS Studio.
♦ Run OBS and add/set up the devices.
♦ Confirm your video and audio settings (choose quality of stream etc.)
♦ Run some tests to get the audio levels correct and synced with the video.
♦ Configure with your streaming service.
♦ Stream away!
There are dozens of guides on the Internet to help you further if you get stuck at any stage.
