Hey
I have 2 yamaha hs8, One of them seems to have a problem in the high frequencies, like a buzz, i have balanced cable, i tried changing port on audio interface and cable, same outcome, i recorded each monitor separately in this video can you take a look ? can this be the audio interface? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBC2_txQKNg
thanks
Studio monitor with buzz
Re: Studio monitor with buzz
If you've swapped the outputs at the interface and the buzz stays with the same speaker then it's not the interface; it's either the speaker or the cable. If you then swap the cable and the buzz stays with the same speaker it's the speaker.

Re: Studio monitor with buzz
Are the two speakers powered from the same mains outlet?
If not, do that and see if it fixes the problem.
If yes, it was/is a ground loop issue.
If no, you have a poorly speaker.
Also... does this speaker still buzz when there is no audio input cable connected?

Hi thanks for reply
Yes the speakers are connected to the same power outlet
The issue only appears above something around 1.5khz and at a certain minimum volume
Is it possible that i caused the damage somehow? i'm pretty sure i treated both with care

Re: Studio monitor with buzz
Yes, it's possible you caused the damage, with excessive volume or transients. It sounds like the problem concerns the tweeter and/or the HF amplifier. Both can fail spontaneously, although that's rare.
Sounds like it's going to need a repair...
