Just recently ive been running in to this issue.
I start a new project, and for a while I can join audio regions using the various methods. At some point this stops working, with an error message about the .caf file being in use in an open project. Obviously it's in use, but how can I get around this? I never had this issue in the past.
I know I can bounce in place, but that takes longer (these are 2 1/2 hour gig recordings).
Im on a MBP M1, uptodat with Sonoma as of today. Logic Pro 11 unto date as well.
Can't join regions in Logic. .caf file is in use.

If the caf file is a short one but looped you could bounce the original short one and loop that new bounce. (Replacing the caf file with the new bounce)
Unless I misunderstood the issue.

Thanks. Not sure you understood though.
I have regions that are around 2 1/2 hours long, around 14 tracks. It’s a gig recording.
I want to edit certain sections of certain tracks, but keep each track as one whole region. I normally use Join or tre glue tool. After a while i can’t use either as this .car file is stopping the join from happening. It’s around 2.3GB. I believe it’s the container for all the audio on that particular track.
