Just popped into my inbox. I am sure someone here was looking for something like that a couple of weeks ago? 6 mic/line mono ins. 3 stereo line ins.
Pulse gear is very much budget basement but should be fine for all but the most stringent uses?
Oooo! NO wall rat!
Dave.
Compact mixer
Re: Compact mixer
Hi Dave!
Internet country lock out here, would you please give name of mixer?
I've just been down the small mixer research road ... would love to read about it

Re: Compact mixer
Pulse is actually a CPC brand name and CPC are part of the Newark/Farnell/Avnet empire so you may find them on the Newark website in the USA.
There are a whole host of small mixers at
https://cpc.farnell.com/c/audio-visual/ ... gue-mixers
so it is probably worth spending some time looking at those if you want something compact.

Indeed... and it doesn't come anywhere close to the flexibility needed to meet your needs.
The Samson SM10, with an external reverb, might do it, though... if a rack mixer appeals.

I use one myself to control my in-ears when playing live.

Thank you, Hugh!
I'll bookmark that mixer for when racks are part of my life. I've currently settled on the Mackie ProFX 12v3+ with a mic splitter so I can control my IEMs on a channel separate from the one going to FOH.
I'll have a chance to bring my equipment to the venue for a "sound check" this weekend, with my first open mic night (OMN) being a few weeks later; I may take your advice on asking the FOH engineer then about his adding some simple FOH FX to the vocals, assuming I get past my feelings of musical inferiority enough to do so (he looked rather intimidating when I watched him at the OMN I observed last week). I feel so exposed, and somewhat "fraudulent ", as a solo performer compared to being able to "hide" as a band member!
If not, I'll just send him some cheapish FX from my Mackie for the first gig or two until I develop a relationship with him.
Thanks again!

Re: Compact mixer
You know this already, but just in case you're wavering, this is entirely normal and the only way to overcome it is to get up there and do your thing.
It'll be fine.

Re: Compact mixer
Now, I say this with a good deal of consideration, having been very silly with 'the demon D' many years ago.
If, and ONLY if you are a very modest 'social' drinker, a double scotch or whatever you like (not beer. Bladder might cause problems!) just before you go on can help. If you do not normally use alcohol then for HEAVENS sake do not start!
The 'trick' is to keep to a small swift ONE. Very easy to get hooked on "more must be better". Musicians have of course long had a reputation for the use of "substances" The idea is a small drink can calm nerves. More than that definitely does not improve performance, though there have been many that think it does.
If you are driving after the event do not of course have anything at all.
Dave.

Re: Compact mixer
Well thank you very much Drew and Dave.
Once I commit to playing I'll likely go onstage "unaltered". I'll just channel/ pretend to myself I'm someone or other as I walk on stage, I think I can do that!
