Tips for setting up a MX-1 and a MINIFUSE 4

Post by raydeen74 »

Hi there,
I need an advice: I have a Roland AIRA MX-1 mixer with several synthesizers connected to it (Prophet 6, Moog Subsequent37, Digitakt, Roland System 8, Roland TR8-S) and two Adam Audio T5V monitors on the output with a terrible background noise…
When I try to record synth tracks in Logic Pro or Live 12, I can't hear anything (not even the waveform appears in the DAW track). The problem is that in the audio settings of Logic/Live, the MX-1 is perfectly detected but the tracks of the synths connected to it are not recorded.
So I decided to make a test and buy the Arturia Minifuse 4: I connected the synth with the TRS jack cables and the USB from the synth o the MINIFUSE and the Minifuse to my Macbook Pro.
Now everything runs smoothly and I can record and hear the synths in my DAWs, but the problem is that every time I find myself disconnecting the TRS jack cables from the Roland MX-1 and then connecting them to the MINIFUSE to be able to record.
The question I ask you is: how can I optimize the workflow and combine the Minifuse by hooking it up to the MX-1, without having to connect and disconnect the wires?
Does it make sense to use the Minifuse as the main audio soundcard and connect the ADAM T5V speakers to it, and in sidechain connect the Roland MX-1 with all the synths ALREADY connected to it,using the native AIRA system of the System 8 and TR8S via USB in the MX1?
I don't know if I explained myself wel,l but I would like to have both audio cards coexist in a single workflow.

Thanks in advance
Faber
