TL;DR - Logic Pro X (11.1.2) will only pan audio through the front left and right channels.
A BIT MORE DETAIL - My setup is pretty simple. My M2 Mac (Sonoma) is going USB into an RME Digiface, ADAT out to a Behringer ADA8200, and then directly to my monitors.
I have TotalMix set to Straight Playback and I have verified that if I set an audio track driectly to outputs 1-6, they map through TotalMix without issue and I can monitor it no problem to the correct speaker.
When I DO run into a problem is when I set Logic for surround panning. No matter what I try, Logic seems to refuse to pan anything to anywhere besides the front left and right channels (aka, the master output).
I have Logic's audio I/O set to the correct outputs for Surround.
So if I have a track and I set the front Left and Right to any of the 6 channels, I can hear the audio just fine. But if I pan front-to-back, the audio STAYS in the front channels. When I look at TotalMix, I can confirm that the audio isn't panning from the front Left and Right (channels 1-2) to the Surround channels (channels 3-4).

I'm at my wits end, I have no idea why Logic is not playing nice, and I cannot find anything online that lines up with my issue, or a solution.
This is for my next big project, which will be using immersive audio.
Happy to supply any other additional details, or even jump on a Zoom call if that's easier. Also happy to pay for someone's time if required. I just need a kick in the right direction.
