Behringer price alert
Re: Behringer price alert
Agreed, that's crazy low pricing!
Meanwhile, in the US:
Behringer synth prices just rose by up to 70% in the US - are Trump tariffs to blame?

And when the US itches we scratch. I have spent years reading up on geopolitics, observers such as Sachs, Chomsky, Wolff, Ritter and this “Small yard, high fence” has been a long time coming, but it is claimed by almost any economist, Protectionism v Competition is self defeating. I was listening to a speech by leading politician of an African country, speaking in respect of the Global South, and said they have “Had enough of The West plundering natural resources, then imposing punitive sanctions and tariffs, and there’s going to be changes” Is it any surprise Trump wants to get his mitts on those loverley lithium mines in Ukraine?
With price increases imposed due to Covid, Brexit, Ukraine situation, one gets the feeling we ain’t seen nothing yet. I think I might need to stock up on synths, a Behringer will cost more than a Moog at this rate.
Re: Behringer price alert
Depends where the actual stock is as well.

Re: Behringer price alert
If it's already in the US, then no tariffs presumably.
This is more about production warehouse levels and production line flexibility.
I suspect Behringer is an efficiently run machine based on pricing.
So I can't see any potential blip being long term if there is one.
Re: Behringer price alert
I was thinking about the stock in transit. It takes a few weeks to ship from China to the US, longer to Europe and it's not easy to redirect on the way.

Re: Behringer price alert
Ha! If Trump's protectionism is causing lower prices in Europe, what's causing price gouging in the UK?

The cost of living crises, above world average inflation & Brexit aftermath
Clearly not an Asteroids player !!!!
If you go off the screen to the right, you will wrap round and appear on the left of the screen. Whereas China-Europe, you have to trudge across the screen right to left & do Suez or not, depending on the style at the time.

An all time low, this is crazy.
I'm confused.
Amazon (USA) is showing (for me) $249 for the B wasp deluxe, and Amazon UK says £118.
Sweetwater and Guitar Centre are both asking $199. The UK retailers are all around £118.

I get the US tariff effect on pricing in the US. I'm not getting the UK price gouging comment.

Re: Behringer price alert
I think its just inflation etc.
I updated my gear in covid so thats my baseline and looking at todays elevated prices I am a bit shocked.
But that also carries into the real world & the prices of stuff in the supermarkets.

I am in the US. I just clicked on your original link. It shows £98.33 plus (in small print) £24.43 delivery to the US. I guess that's what you saw the first time.
That's interesting, I did change my postcode, but I thought seeing as I didn’t sign in it would have defaulted back to the USA price.

Re: Behringer price alert
If retailers think they can get away with notching prices up they will, because they have surfeit of excuses at their disposal - Covid, Brexit, Ukraine, and now we got an acute case of the TT's (Trumper Tariffs) the US are now considering imposing tariffs on any ship that docks in the USA and was built in China. An example mentioned in the news was some Caribbean islands, shipping stuff to and from the USA, and the ship can be owned by whomsoever, will have tariffs imposed. How on earth that could be considered fair is beyond me, and the thing is, the move can be detrimental to US companies too.
The Great Trump obviously is not acquainted with Newton's famous formula - "Every Action has an Equal and Opposite Reaction" - IOW - "You Kick me and I'll Kick You Back, now Please Bend Over"
So with such wide reaching tariffs being imposed, so arbitarilly, prices will be notched up, as retailers hold the cards - they have, we want, we moan, in the end we pay up. In fairness to the manufacturers, they will endeavour to make products affordable and we'll all ride out the storm and the 'Small Yard, High Fence' approach will leave Trump isolated, the world will move on, the biggest mistake a narcissist can make is to become so deluded that they believe the world cannot get along without them.
I have just returned from doing a bit of a food shop and I found that some items that are considered a treat, has seen prices rise from a £1.00 to almost £2.00, and yet they tell us inflation is 4% (I'd like to know where our Chancellor does her shopping because I would be consumed with glee if prices only went up by 4%)
The consumer has the ultimate power. Although we do have this tendency to buy what we don't need with money we haven't got - I'm no silly sausage, I put the stuff back on the shelf, I cannot understand why I should make myself poor by making someone else rich, and I cut up my credit card one day years ago when I realised that at interest rates of 25% I was buying a £1.00 for £1.25 DOH!!!

Not if you pay the full bill every month. Use it as a payment card, rather than a credit card, and reap the benefits.
Yes I agree, but I had a lack of self-control, the concept escaped me and I think I speak for the majority of credit card users. If the money men didn't find the business of selling money a lucrative endeavour they wouldn't bother, they prey on our weaknesses, ask any lion o the Serengeti, a wounded animal is easy pickings half the work is done for you. So I invoked the family motto, no matter what the urge, walk around the corner, around the block and over the road and within 15 mins the urge has gone. The dopamine hit of a speculative purchase has faded away. I do stress that at the time, in order to avoid living in penury I only had two choices, no choice and no choice at all.
I hope Bedgrinder swag stays cheap, their products have to some extent democratized music making and the claims of inferior quality aren't really justified, ask the owners of the X32 range.
Re: Behringer price alert
My mum seemed to think she was close to the end of her life so she kept her cards maxed out. She would have been thinking something along the lines of f***- ‘em as she was feisty with a good sense of humour.
When she died there was very little in her estate and the credit card companies had to “forgive the debt” (their words - how kind of them)
Dying seems to be a bit extreme for payback in my mind.
When I was settling her estate I called the newspaper to cancel her delivery subscription and the salesperson on the other end of the line tried to talk me into continuing the subscription and giving it to one of her neighbours.

If you can't take it with you, take someone else's.
As an aside, I find it telling that Islam is the only religion I know of that forbids charging interest on loans.

Re: Behringer price alert
They don't call it interest, but it works out the same in the end: the borrower gains investment or assets, and makes regular repayments. The loan source makes a defined amount of money on the deal.
