Yoshimi Goes to LAC

Post by Folderol »

I've had confirmation that I will have a slot in this year's Linux Audio Conference to show off Yoshimi's developments since 2020 :bouncy:

This is being held in Lyon at the end of June.
The event is usually live streamed.

Just avoid picking up any local duck feathers before the conference. Remember there’s no Lyon down on the job.

Not necessarily a banning offense, a joke that bad. But definitely 'you've racked one up on the three strikes and you're out' scale. 8-)

I've just had an email with the following information.
The 'JIM' bit will be in French, while the 'LAC' part will be in English.

Hi everyone,

If you will be watching JIMLAC-25 remotely, here's the streaming link:
https://www.youtube.com/@gramecncm/streams

eduroam will be accessible throughout the conference. If you don't have
an eduroam account, please fill out this form (before coming to
JIMLAC-25) to be able to connect to the internet during the conference:
https://front-new.cisr.fr/comptes-resea ... 4A8173C1BD
Sorry, the form is in French, but it should be pretty straightforward to
understand ;).

Best,

The JIMLAC-25 Committee

For anyone interested all the talks and workshops have been uploaded to the link below. The Yoshimi workshop is number 3.
There's a bit of a delay to the start so it pays to nudge the playing index along a bit.

Just want to add that the audio does bounce around quite a lot.
When making the presentation I had no idea what the microphone level was, and also the position of the speakers meant I could hardly hear them. I don't like to be critical but the people managing the system didn't seem to be very familiar with it.

Will, just been watching this video, the very first sound is excellent, definitely got potential, especially low down in the register, I can imagine it somewhere in my music, in fact, a lot of the sounds are interesting, gave me an idea of what Yoshimi is capable of.
