Behringer VCS3

Post by Arpangel »

Just watched a video that still mentions this as a possible up and coming release, compared to that Cloney in the Look Mum No Computer video, my god, it looks tacky, really tacky, it looks like a cheap Chinese shopping channel version if they made one, brash coloured knobs, tacky VU meter, and an odd cabinet shape, that doesn’t quite work. The Cloney could pass as an original, not this Behringer, all they had to do was change a few cosmetic things and it would look cool, but even me, who's almost sold on it, after looking at it this morning, I think I’ve changed my mind.

Again? Surely not?

But it's only Wednesday, so still time to put it back in the 'must have' and 'best synth ever' category before the end of the week.

BTW, the brash knobs, tacky meter and odd cabinet haven't changed since the first protype was shown long ago.

Hugh, have you any links to "current" pictures? I saw one on Youtube and it looked like it always has. It's always been "the best synth ever" but maybe not this version!

theres no real mention of the VCS in the roundup video I just posted in the Berhibger thread. "first seen in 2017" !!

Knobwise, it would probably be cheap and easy to get similar looking replacement knobs that appeal to your taste.

There was a previous picture of synths on shelving in a factory with the VCS on the top shelf. One of those synths was the Wave, which is now available on the high street for £495 - so dont give up hope for the VCS3 :)

Good idea, I'd replace the knobs, and that VU meter, maybe the joystick too.
Sometimes Behringer get it right, but when they don’t it's a tacky nightmare.
Like their 4LFO, and Abacus, the only reason I haven’t bought them isn’t because of some ethical problem it’s because they look so cheap and tacky.
