Classic Music Reference CD

Post by musicainbasso »

Hello everyone, I am listening to many CDs of very good quality. To be precise the ones in Bob katz's Honot Roll. However, I do not see any classical music CDs. Does anyone have any suggestions for listening to well mixed and mastered classical music CDs that I can listen to in my stereo system? Thanks!

From a technical recording perspective, look to award-winning engineers like Tony Faulkner. If you want to study a particular style of recording of all sorts of different classical repertoire, try the huge boxed set of CDs "Decca Sound- The Analogue Years"

I find BIS records seem to be well recorded generally , the recent Vanska Sibelius symphony set seems almost ideal to these ears.
