My wife likes it more now, as instead of almost touching the ceiling, it's the same size as the 19 inch rack next to it, symmetry is everything here, there is a constant battle between the two of us, her Feng Shui, and my assertion that aesthetics are everything.
My reduction has as usual, prompted a rearrangement, and she sits there watching me with bemusement as I struggle with cables and plugs on my back under the table, I think she is on the verge of having me certified.
Another thing, don’t buy modular with the attitude of "if it doesn’t work out I'll sell it later" you won't, because it wont sell, unless you virtually give it away.
Modular is a minority interest, I only sell to the UK, so not only have I drastically reduced my market coverage, the number of modular enthusiasts in the UK is probably about the size of the pre 60’s vintage invalid car club.
Why do I bother? because I still think that incredible sounds that I've never heard before are going to jump out of the box at me and change the musical world forever, I'll go down in history and and a Blue Plaque will be placed on our house, and it will read "Arpangel lived here, a pioneer in the generation of new sonic worlds, he was also responsible for making the worlds best cauliflower cheese"
It’s the last bit I'd like to be remembered for.
