Re: No sound when i play
Check that the midi input from the controller is mapped correctly to the track.
I am a Cubase user, not Logic, but in Cubase that would be the likely answer. The midi input monitor in Cubase responds to all incoming midi irrespective of the source and channel. But a track will only respond if it there is a match to the right source and channel. Maybe Logic is the same.

The controller keyboard is most probably sending out on a different midi channel, you need to make sure they match or set the receiving synth to ‘All’ if you’re recording one track at a time and not doing anything more complicated with midi or using a multi-timbral synth.

Thanks for the replies .
I am using a discontinued lexicon alpha soundcard . I am hoping if i buy a Babyface pro fs my playback problems Will be fixed .
A new logic project fixed the problem and then suddenly boom the sound vanishes again .

Unless you were going to buy the Babyface anyway, maybe hold off spending cash on hardware as this looks like a midi routing issue rather than a hardware one?

If its a midi problem , why does the sound suddenly vanish when i havent pushed any buttons ? I am playing its working and suddenly nothing plus logic is registering every note .

I'm no expert, maybe it is your sound card.
Does the sound card work OK if you're watching YouTube videos or listening to music?
When you said a new Logic project fixed it, even temporarily, that made me wonder about midi/audio routing etc.
Hopefully someone with more (better!) ideas will be along shortly.

Just to recap,
I think that you are saying that you can record a track in Logic, and the track then plays back correctly. The only issue is that the track is not playing on your monitors/headphones as you record it.
You also said that opening a new project corrects the issue for a short time.
Is this all correct?
Is the problem intermittent, or does it always fail after it has failed once?

Hi again !! Thanks for the replies.
Jimmy B , the playback just goes silent .
Chromeman , i am on sequoia . So it was a cheap sound interface , it was discontinued and in my case its supposed to work with the latest Mac OS and logic . I am betting with the Babyface everything Will work rock solid .

I don't use Logic, so this is a question. Before spending a lot of money, is it possible to set Logic to use the computer's internal soundcard, just to see if the problem persists?

Thanks.
In that case, I suggest that the OP (temporarily) configures Logic to use the internal sound card instead of the external audio interface.
If the symptoms go away, the problem may be in the external audio interface, or its driver, and a new audio interface is likely to help.
If the symptoms stay the same, the external audio interface may be working OK, and the problem may be in the configuration of Logic.
