The only excuse we have for making music in the first place is to make it differently..vis-a-vis our own difference (Glenn Gould)

Mine is still going after 25 years and sounds as good as it ever did. I still prefer the Trinity synth that preceded it though.
I wouldn't question the audio capabilities for a minute. I think the Triton Rack is better sounding than most things from the era but "unbreakable" is a strong word. I've no idea whether the floppy drive in mine still works. I should check!
Good call though - its as good as they came IMHO, despite my preference for the Trinity which only just pipped it for the crown at the time. Both are sterling bits of gear and residents in my studio for as long as they keep ticking

Casio CSM10 great, all my Behringer stuf great, some going back over ten years, Boss SE50 great, Novation A Station great, Eventide stuff great, Lexicon too, Japanese stuff is the essence of reliability, and industry standard stuff rarely goes wrong, IME. When stuff goes wrong it’s usually my fault, not the gear.

Bet it's never needed new batteries either...

Seems to be some kind of cosmic rule though, governing the value of that which stands the test of time and still works great - though needs updating. For example, passive speakers and stereo amps. Might work like a dream still, and give wondrous sound, but totally worthless. No clawing back pennies against a new set of Neumans or something.
Would have been better off if they'd caught fire or blown up a decade a go.

Passive speakers of a similar level of quality to the Neumanns are still worth good money. In fact, you can probably buy a used pair of KH120s for less than a pair of LS3/5as - and you don't need a separate amplifier for the Neumanns.

Yes, it's just a bit of a shock when you first realise your beloved old gear is worthless
