Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
IIRC, you said the chassis was around 74mm wide. What is the distance between the centres of the mounting holes, and what's the diameter of the cone?
Reliably fallible.
Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
Thanks..
So looking at the driver from the top the housing is 73mm square.
The driver itself (what I can see) is 70mm diameter (this includes a small plastic ring about about 2.5 mm thick, which i guess is how the driver is attached to the housing so the total diameter without the ring included is 65mm)
From one centre of a screw hole to another (diagonally) is 85mm
Depth from the back of the housing to the magnet is 40mm and about 44/45mm from the top of the housing to the magnet
here are a couple of pictures if these help.

Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
Could it be an OEM Celestion?
https://celestion.com/product/an2775/
Dimensions look about right, it might be helpful to weigh the old speaker if that's a match too it might be a good sign.

Tysm for sending this on, i'll check the weight and compare
Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
The Celestion hasn't got the raised ring around the edge of the cone, it's got a recess instead. But the HH could be a Chinese copy of the Celestion. If it were mine I'd go for the Celestion as I don't think you'll find anything that's more suitable.
I've bought several speakers from this company before and would happily use them again.

Just double check those PCD measurements, 82mm vs 85mm may work but may require some work with a small file...

Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
That’s a good point.
Are there inserts in the unit housing to accept machine screws? If so, those won’t move, so it’s the holes in the speaker unit that will need to be modified if necessary. Looks like a round needle file should do the job, as you’ll need to make the round hole into a slot, but only by 1.5mm per hole. If necessary use longer machine screws and washers.

Or you can drill a couple of holes and fit brass machine screw inserts (just google threaded inserts, they're widely available on ebay and amazon in little boxes with a range of sizes). I use these a lot with 3d printed stuff. M2X5mm would be adequate I would think, use a washer if necessary if the speaker mounting hole is too large for the screw head. I just make sure they fit the holes, use a little bit of epoxy around the outside and press them in. It helps to use a machine screw that fits and press the insert into the hole and screw the screw right in. Then let the epoxy cure to the point where the leftover glue you mixed is quite rubbery but not quite fully cured, and unscrew the screw. This ensures you don't block the screw threads or end up with a screw you can't remove.
Then leave to fully cure and you're good to go. To be honest, two screws diagonally would do the job I think, they're not handling LF so they aren't gonna have a lot of vibration to deal with. Little bit of silicone around the flange if you want to be sure of a seal (neutral cure! not acid cure).

WRT to "inserts, epoxy and screws?" Smear a little silicone grease (or Fairy liquid!) on the screw threads. Don't want to epoxy the poxy things in as well!
I have also often in the past had to make intermediate baffles to fit what I had or could get into various cabs.
Dave.

Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
Thanks all so far for the help with this....
1) I bought the Celestion driver mentioned above as it does seem to be the closest I could find BUT as predicted the mounting holes are not the same as the original drivers so going to need some work to mount, but I'm (perhaps hopelessly) optimistic that I can make it work
2) Just after I purchased the speaker HH responded to an email I sent them (about 1.5 weeks prior) which stated that I could purchase a replacement from them (having previously stated on the phone that I couldn't do just that)
They gave me a code of SKU: MCI015451 and a cost of £14 and asked for my details so they could invoice me, I responded to them a week ago and have yet to hear anything back
So the plot thickens but my current thinking is that if the Celestion driver works then I'll probably just go with that and bodge the mounting.

Re: Blown HH Electronics Tensor-Go Speaker Specs
Hello all,
A bit of a delay on my side but happy to report that the Celestion AN2775 speaker fits and works just fine without any modifications in the Tensor Go despite the mounting holes being slightly different.
So the column PA is back up and running! thanks for everyones support/help.
Rob
P.S. Although HH told me that I could order a replacement from them they never responded to my emails after that so I gave up
