Dock for Mac mini m4

I’m about to upgrade to a Mac mini m4 and want a doc with SSD. Does anyone have any recommendations? I use Logic. Thanks in advance,

I'm not familiar with the item but I've used kit from this company in the past and it's been good.

I got one of them and it's a really solid bit of kit. All the ports I need, and the NVMe slot meaning I also have a 2 TB drive in there too.

UGREEN Mac Mini M4 Dock with 10Gbps NVMe SSD Enclosure (Up to 8TB), USB C Hub with 3x USB-A 10Gbps, 2x USB-A 3.0, 2x USB-C 10Gbps, 170MB/s SD/TF, Dock & Stand for Mac Mini M4/M4 Pro.. what's not to like!!!?

And a superb cut-out to allow easy access to the weirdly-located Power button on the standard Mac mini M4. These computers are great workhorses for music.

the dock arrived but I'm having a problem setting it up. The icon appears on the desktop and under 'locations'. However, if I click on either they both disappear. I've tried suggestions I've found online but nothing works - any ideas? thanks in advance.

Do you have a drive fitted in the dock?

Good question!

I could not find a dock to accommodate everything, so I hid it in a cupboard instead, where the drives for the Hackintosh were before. Keeps it even quieter than it already is!

6TB external storage. As well as MIDI, there's a HDMI for second monitor, CF card reader for the DSLR, Gigabit Ethernet port, ilok, two printers and a scanner.

Yes. It seems it was a conflict with Time Machine and other wrong settings :headbang:

It's a Crucial P310 2TB. Once I sorted access to it, I moved all the Logic sound library over to it very quickly without a glitch. I'll be attempting a couple of test projects with the new set up later in the week and will report back how I get on or more likely, be asking for further assistance!

an update: it's all working very well, the whole sound library is immediately available with any chosen item loading very quickly.

The only issue was the keyboard not working/not working correctly. Initially, it was connected via midi cable to Clarett 4pre to the dock's usb A. I tried changing the sample rate etc but nothing worked. When I changed the 4pre's connection direct to one of the Mac usb C ports, it was perfect. I'm assuming the dock's usb A are not fast enough but I don't really know.

Cool, mine is also working great. It's best not to plug audio interfaces into a dock/ hub :D
