I bet that upgrade came as a shock! That's a whole different league of impressive!

I was very impressed with them at GearFest at couple of years ago. Felt they were the pick of all the monitors there, in the if-money-was-no-object camp.

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Ha Ha! another pair of PMC’s!
All here are taking bets now, I believe they’ve got a book going, as to how I’ll react!
They are arriving this morning.
Ha! Hugh, you know I’m the only one that can use the word "beyond"

PS, I was expecting her new PMC’s to be a lot more expensive.
Just found this video about her.

One thing I've seen Kate Tavini say is that she monitors at a much lower level than most people expect which means that your monitors won't have had a hard life so far.
I saw a really good interview with her a few years ago but I'm just about to start a session so will have to dig it out later.

A pair of PMC6-2s will set you back around £10,325.
...and they're worth every penny!
I thought I saw them for 6.5k, but maybe it was a lower model, yes, I bet they’re "beyond"
PS, my space is about the size of hers, or maybe a bit wider, I’m looking forward to seeing how they sound in here, I’m thinking they’ll sound pretty good, the acoustics here aren’t bad, there isn’t one straight wall in the place, with lots of uneven surfaces, I hardly get any room sound, it’s quite dead.

I'm fairly sure that this was the interview that I remember

It is a long video but I found it interesting to hear about her approach and the similarities to my approach.

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Thanks James, just watched it.
OK, verdict.
What can I say?
The differences here between these and my Behringer's is far greater than Dave’s comparison between his monitors, in every way.
The main thing that struck me immediately with these PMC's is this "sensuality" is the best way I can describe it, the very first thing I played you could hear "into" the music, it really was a three dimensional experience, it wrapped itself around me in a very sensual way, everything just sounds "right" and extremely "clear" with hardly any colouration.
I played the Tony Benett Bill Evan’s album, my wife was stunned by the realism of his voice, it was like he was standing in front of us, she said "can’t we use these upstairs!
I’m running them flat, and they sound fine, no harsh top end, and just enough bass.
I notice that Katie was using them toed in, at an angle, I’m using them pointing straight ahead, may try her approach today, but they sound fine as they are.
Nothing more to say, best money I’ve ever spent on gear.
OK, verdict.

Reliably fallible.
Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Nope, a chap is picking up the Behringer’s later, can’t imagine wanting to go back to them.

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Yes Bob, thanks, I’m always right about these things, if something is right you know the minute you hear it, if you have to "persevere" or "get used to it" you know it’s not right.
I took a chance, and it payed off, they came up at the right time, at the right price, and were obviously looked after by the previous user.
All I can say to others who are a bit like me "let’s make do" it’s not worth it, people don’t buy these things if their not worthwhile, and sometimes you don’t know what your missing, until you hear it.

And many of us are *cough* of a certain age, where "you only live once" starts to have more weight. So yeah, definitely "seize the carpe diem" as someone said once
Hmm. That Leviasynth... What did I do with my credit card? Very best wishes and hope you're inspired to create some great music!

Well, at the very least, I think I should be hearing what I should be hearing!

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Great news Tony!
Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Hi all, after much listening this morning I've fine tuned them to what I think is a good balance in my place, just 1dB of boost in the bass, with the tweeters on the outside, and both toed in facing my ears.
Gives a tad more bass as they are out in the room, and the stereo imaging seems more balanced with the tweeters on the outside.

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Just FYI, as a general rule, PMCs are designed to be used with minimal toe-in because the on-axis response is intentionally brighter than flat. This is to help equalise the HF energy in the room.
As a guide, I'd aim their axes to cross about two feet behind the listening position and experiment from there.
The tweeters on the inside or outside really depends on how widely the speakers are positioned, what clutter exists between the speakers, and how close the walls are on the outsides. I usually find inside works best, but it is very location dependent.

For best results, maybe you could paint the walls blue?

I downloaded the manual, as you say, angle about two feet behind the listener, which I've done, I've swapped them back with the tweeters on the inside, I'll leave them like that. They are about five feet apart with my computer monitor in between behind them.
Crazy, had to put my Behringer's up just so the guy that bought them could try them, after listening to the PMC's even for a short time, the Berry's sounded very coloured, flat, with limited real bass. After listening to my own music on the PMC's I'm hearing things that I didn't know were there, and all the reverb effects are beautiful to hear, very very sensuous, I guess due to the better imaging.

Re: PMC TwoTwo 6 or not.
Any way you can bring them a little forward of the computer monitor? That will improve imaging.
Edit: saw you have already done that, please ignore me.
